About

How it began
Rock Paper Pretty was established in 2019 in Oakville, ON by our founder, Dana Sobanski. It all started because she wanted a beautifully designed piece of gemstone jewelry that she could wear with anything. When she couldn't find the jewelry she was looking for, she knew she couldn't be the only one!
Our jewelry is designed to be effortlessly chic and elegant and is made with only real gemstones and high quality elements. When you put on one of our pieces, we want you to feel not only pretty on the outside, but on the inside too!

eco conscious
At Rock Paper Pretty, we believe you can be eco conscious and also have beautiful jewelry. We are constantly looking for ways to be a more sustainable business. We care about the environment and our impact on it. Our jewelry boxes are made with FSC certified paper and non-toxic adhesive that is safe for our planet. Our jewelry bags are reusable and made with organic cotton.

our mission
Jewelry you can feel good about! We are committed to minimizing our use of single use plastics in all of our packaging and shipping. We use recycled paper where ever possible and have switched our mailers to FSC certified paper envelopes and cardboard mailers made in Canada which are 100% recyclable. Our bubble mailers are completely biodegradeable and environmentally friendly.

MEET THE MAKER
OUR STORY

HI, I'M DANA
Owner and maker here at Rock Paper Pretty. I’m also a wife, mom and registered nurse. And I love making jewelry! I have always been creative and appreciated anything handmade.
Rock Paper Pretty started when I was looking for some new jewelry several years ago and couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for…. something beautifully designed, that was easy to wear with real gemstones. I love using gemstones in my pieces and it still amazes me how these “rocks” were naturally created by the earth.
As a working mom, you need jewelry that is simple and elegant that will easily take you from morning drop off to date night! I feel that jewelry is an extension of yourself and even in a pair of jeans and a plain t-shirt, it’s the only thing you put on that is truly “you”. Jewelry should be meaningful, personal, and make you feel beautiful when you wear it. And you should be able to wear it everyday!
Thanks for being here.
Xo, Dana
